AMERICANISM

Constituting Perpetual Patriotic Spirit

Americanism is fostering an allegiance to the history of the United States, its customs and institutions by being passionate about patriotism, love of country and flag.

The Americanism Committee has the responsibility of inspiring reverence for the American Flag and our country. We lead all regular meetings with an Invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance. Proper display of the American and Idaho flags are at all NIFRW meetings. Monthly American Flag flying days are stated at each meeting during the slide show presentation.

Every September Constitution books are given to a variety of local schools and non-profit organizations promoting the importance of our Founding Fathers original documents.  Each year Constitution books are given to 4-H, Boy Scouts of America, Bonners Ferry, Clark Fork and Sandpoint's Alternative High Schools.

The NIFRW has formed an alliance with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) to ascertain their needs when considering Fundraising Events. The most recent funds raised were given to a local Veteran for assistance with his vehicle. The NIFRW also contributed to the Honor Flight Program in conjunction with the VFW. The VFW, representation from Sandpoint High School Honor Flight Club - John Nitcy and several students worked together in the preparation and dismantling of the White Elephant Trunk Yard sale held in May 2015. In 2014, the NIFRW raised funds for 700 Telephone Cards so that U. S. Soldiers could contact their families during the holidays. In 2016, the NIFRW presented the American Legion with a check in the amount of $250. We leave a past but our Veterans leave us with a legacy of Freedoms.

The NIFRW participates in a variety of ways to champion AMERICANISM.
